We are excited to let you know that Tribes TLC® Training is being offered to BCECTA teachers over four days between April 20th – May 27th!
What is Tribes TLC® Training?
Tribes Learning Communities (Tribes TLC®) is a process that leads to a caring environment through the promotion of cooperative learning, a structure for positive interaction and ongoing group productivity. The basic training helps prepare teachers to develop a caring classroom environment that promotes student development, motivation and academic achievement. a) What grade levels is this for? K-12
b)How does this connect to the redesigned curriculum? Tribes TLC Training helps teachers weave together Core Competencies, First Peoples’ Principles of Learning and Curricular Competencies.
c) Where are the 4 days of training being held? In Coquitlam. Details will be emailed out to registered participants.
Details are being finalized, but here is what we can tell you now…
1) Check your calendar to ensure you can commit to all 4 dates as follows:
– Thursday, April 20th (after school) 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
– Friday, April 21st (all day on PD Day) 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
– Friday, May 26th (after school) 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
– Saturday, May 27th (all day) 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

What’s the registration fee for the 4 days?
Registration Fee $100 for ALL FOUR DAYS
Book Fee $80
*participants may be able to use their local PD funds to offset this cost: talk to your local PD chair person. BCECTA is also working on developing grants for future PD opportunities like these.
